A free, ticketed, 90-minute cooking class for children, running from 3 to 11 October 2026 at North Village Green, Darling Quarter. Classes are led by participating Darling Quarter retailers, chefs and guest operators, and each one is built around a real dish the children make from scratch.

Nothing. Little Chef is free to attend, but every child needs a valid booking — places are limited and a booking is only confirmed once you have received a confirmation email.

Little Chef runs in three age categories, and each has its own class size:

• Mini Chefs — 6 to 7 years, 8 children per class
• Junior Chefs — 8 to 9 years, 10 children per class
• Rising Chefs — 10 to 12 years, 10 children per class

Book your child into the category matching their age on the day of the class.

Choose an age category on this site, pick a class, and complete the booking form. You will receive a confirmation email with your child’s class, date and time, plus a calendar file you can add to your phone.

Keep that email — it is your ticket, and it carries the cancellation instructions.

Join it — classes do free up. We record your details, and if a place becomes available in that class we will contact you using the details on your waitlist entry.

Joining a waitlist does not hold a place and does not guarantee one. If you would rather be certain, it is worth checking whether another class in your child’s age category still has room.

Each booking covers one child in one class. We may cancel bookings where multiple bookings appear to have been made improperly, where false information has been given, or where the booking system has been misused. Tickets cannot be sold or resold.

Not in the same class. Each child needs to be booked into the class matching their own age — children cannot share a place, and cannot join a class outside their age category. The recipes, the equipment and the level of help are all pitched at one age band, so a younger sibling in an older class would struggle and an older one would be bored.

The good news is that the age categories never run at the same time. You can book both children on the same day and be with each of them in turn.

So a Saturday with a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old works as 10:00am and then 12:30pm, with an hour in between.

Yes. Each booking relates to one child, one class and one session, so please complete the form once per child. If both children are in the same age category you can book them into the same class, subject to places being available.

No. Because the age categories are staggered, one parent or guardian can accompany more than one child on the same day. You do need to be onsite for the whole of each class, so allow for the gap between them.

The one matching their age on the day of the class, not the day you book. If a booking is made in the wrong category it may be cancelled, or moved to a more suitable session where there is room.

Yes. Little Chef is not a drop-off program. A parent or guardian must remain onsite for the full 90 minutes and be available throughout. A child cannot take part without an appropriate adult present.

While your child is cooking you are responsible for their safe arrival and departure, for supervision outside the activities the class operator is running, and for making sure they follow reasonable instructions.

In the Parent’s Terrace, a designated area beside the classes, or another area identified by the Little Chef team. The Terrace sits within a licensed area, so liquor licensing rules and Darling Quarter venue rules apply. Please do not drink to a point that affects your ability to supervise or respond to your child.

With enough time to check in before the class starts. If you arrive late, your child may not be able to join part or all of the class — that decision rests with the class operator, for safety reasons. An adult needs to stay onsite regardless of when you arrive.

Aprons are provided. Closed-in shoes are best, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Long hair should be tied back.

Alongside what they have cooked, participating children receive a branded Little Chef apron, a collectable pin and the recipe card for the dish they made. Items are subject to availability and may vary between sessions.

Tell us at the point of booking — the booking form asks about allergies and dietary requirements, and it is important that what you give us is accurate and complete. Where it is reasonably necessary, we pass that information to the chef, retailer or instructor running your child’s class.

If your child has a serious allergy, please contact us before the class so we can talk through whether that particular session is suitable.

No, and we want to be direct about that. Reasonable care is taken in preparing and running each class, but Little Chef cannot represent that a class or its food preparation area is allergen-free. Ingredients are handled in shared preparation areas, and children may be exposed to ingredients used by other participants. Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether a class is suitable for their child.

Please let us know before the class. We will take reasonable steps to accommodate accessibility requirements where we practically can. Parents and guardians remain responsible for bringing any medication or medical equipment their child needs. In an emergency, staff or venue personnel may seek medical assistance where that is reasonably necessary.

Hands-on cooking and food preparation. Depending on the class, that can involve cooking equipment and kitchen utensils, heat and hot surfaces, hot food or liquids, and the ordinary risks that come with cooking. Children are asked to follow all reasonable safety instructions from staff, chefs and venue personnel.

We may stop a child taking part in an activity where we reasonably consider it presents a safety risk to them, another child or a staff member.

Possibly, but only with your consent. Photography consent is separate from the Terms & Conditions, it is optional, and it is not a condition of booking or taking part. You may be asked to give it separately.

Where consent has been given, images may be used on the Little Chef website and social media, in Darling Quarter and JLL communications, in BBR Agency communications, and in other promotional channels connected with Little Chef and Darling Quarter.

Follow the cancellation instructions in your booking confirmation, or email contact@bbr-agency.com. There is no cancellation fee.

Please cancel as soon as you know your child cannot make it. Places are limited and classes book out, so an early cancellation is what lets us offer the spot to another family.

Email contact@bbr-agency.com and the team will take a look. Moves are arranged manually and only where a place in the class you want has been confirmed — so please give as much notice as you can, and don’t treat a move as arranged until we have written back to you.

Your child needs to stay within their own age category. If the class you want is already full, join its waitlist instead.

The place goes unused and another family misses out, which is why we ask for notice. We reserve the right to restrict future bookings where someone repeatedly fails to attend without reasonable notice.

We may add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute classes, chefs, retailers, times or activities where reasonably necessary — for reasons such as severe weather, safety concerns, venue requirements, or chef and ingredient availability. Where it is practical to do so, we will contact affected bookings using the details given at booking, and where possible we may offer an alternative session. As Little Chef is free, no monetary refund applies.
